Ocala - Max W. Oliver Sr., 76, died March 18, 2016 in Ocala, Florida of natural causes. Born on August 13, 1939 in Hodges, AL, he married Sandi (deceased) in 1964 and together they raised a family of four. They moved to Florida in 1979 where Max worked for T.G. Lee as the 'Ice Cream Guy' for just shy of 20 years. He then held several different wholesale/transit jobs until he landed with Marion Transit in 2002 and worked there until retirement in 2010. Max never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a devout Christian and if you knew him, you knew his love of the Lord. Max rests in peace with the Father, now.
Max leaves behind two daughters, Krystal Giordano, Tampa, FL, and Dawn Reese, Lake Worth, FL; son, Max W. Oliver Jr, Belleview FL; grandchildren, Vincent DeRasmo, Boynton Beach, FL, Nicole Giordano, Tampa, FL, Sarah Mahoney, Ocala, FL, Jeffery Roach, Sanford FL, Emily Oliver, Ocala FL and, Andrew Reese, Lake Worth, FL; great-grandchildren, Kristen Mahoney, Samantha Mahoney, Sasha Mahoney and KC Mahoney; brothers, Lee Oliver, Minneola, FL, Hugh Oliver, Alexandria, VA; and sisters, June Capron, Hopewell, VA and Linda Duty, Brunswick, OH, and friends too numerous to mention.
Visitation will be held from 10am to noon at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 26, 2016 with a Funeral service at 12pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, Florida.
