Clyde Douglas Haynes, 88, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at his niece's residence in Versailles. He was born February 19, 1923, in Fayette Co., son of the late Jess, Sr. and Maude Ethel Spurgeon Haynes. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 40 years, Pauline Frances Shackelford Haynes. Mr. Haynes served in the U.S. Army with the 271st Field Artillery during W.W.II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Hilltop Church of God, a self employed electrician, a life-long farmer, and enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with family.

He is survived by 11 nephews and ten nieces whom he loved as if they were his own children. Including his wife and parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Jesse, Jr., William Eugene, Earl Taylor, Stanley E., John F. and Leonard Samuel Haynes.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. Don Carter officiating. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lones Taulbee, Shane Rousey, Bobby White, Harvey, Stanley, Alvin, Earl and Jimmy Haynes. Honorary pallbearers were Clair Bearer and Tony Haynes. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
