Christopher Evan Masters, 26, of Columbia passed away on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.
Christopher was born on May 18, 1989, in Springfield. At age 3, he and his family moved to Columbia.
Christopher loved learning and rarely missed a day of school throughout his years at Carousel Play School, Russell Boulevard Elementary, Smithton Middle School, West Junior High and Rock Bridge High School. He was a third-generation Masters to attend the University of Missouri, where he studied agribusiness and was a third-generation member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.
During his short life, Christopher was involved in a variety of activities. He played soccer, baseball, football and wrestling. He was a member of Scout Troop 4, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Christopher was also a tribesman of Mic-O-Say and a member of The Order of the Arrow.
Along with his father and brother, he had a passion for waterfowl hunting and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and shared a passion for football with the love of his life, Tia Greer.
Christopher was employed as a cook for the past four years at 44 Stone Public House. He took great pride in preparing delicious meals for his many friends, family members and patrons who frequented the restaurant.
Survivors include his parents, Alan and Belinda Masters; brother Collin Masters; longtime love Tia Greer; and grandmothers, Margaret Masters and Brenda Richard. He also leaves behind six uncles, five aunts, 13 cousins and his 44 Stone family.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Marion Masters, Robert Morrison and Fred Richard.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Broadway Christian Church.
The memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at Broadway Christian Church.
