Mr. Roy Larry Chambers, Sr. age 67 of Griffin, Georgia passed away, Monday, March 19, 2012 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Chambers was born in Griffin, Georgia on May 11, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ada Chambers; brothers, William Lee Chambers and Aubrey Chambers. Mr. Chambers was retired Truck Driver with NuWay Transportation and a member of the Plainview Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife of 46 years, Peggy D. Chambers; son, Roy Larry Chambers, Jr. and wife Wendy of Griffin; daughter, Anita Moore and husband Joey of Barnesville; son, Tommy Chambers and wife Dara of Atlanta; grandchildren, Nicole Chambers and fiancée, B.J. Oliver, Amber McCullough and husband, James, Chevy Lee Chambers and wife Xenia, Rebel Chevelle Chambers, Joshua Levi Moore; step grandchildren, Joey Moore, Jr. and wife, Jamie, Britton Allen Moore; great grandchildren, Jordan Lee Fisher, Abigail Corvette Chambers; sister, Karon Johnson of Griffin; sister-in-law, Jeanette Chamber of Griffin; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Obie and Karen Stanford of Griffin, Roger and Dorothy Stanford of Griffin, Ronnie Stanford of California; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Larry Chambers will be on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 3:00pm at Plainview Baptist Church. Reverend Buster Dockins and Reverend Gene Luke will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
