Mrs. Ora Pearl Bell Akin, daughter of the late Creed Craddock Bell and Minnie Lee Perkins Bell, was born on Saturday, May 12, 1906 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Metcalfe Healthcare Center in Edmonton. She was 100 years, 4 months and 10 days of age.

She united in marriage to Arthur Akin on September 10, 1930 and he preceded her in death in October 1973.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a former bookkeeper for Akin's Garage in Greensburg in which, she and her husband operated from about 1939 until his death.

Survivors include three nephews and a niece: Bill VanCleave of Boulder, Colorado, Dorothy Russell of Cleveland, Tennessee, Buford "Bim" Bell of Greensburg and Randall Bell of Campbellsville; four great-nieces, three great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Benjamin "Jack" Bell, Hattie VanCleave and Robert Lewis Bell
