Boardman—Memorial services will be held 11AM Saturday November 29, 2003 at Christ Church Presbyterian for John F. Busch of Lockwood Blvd. who died Friday evening at his residence. Mr. Busch was born April 23, 1920 in Johnstown Pa. the son of George and Gertrude (Eilerman) Busch coming to Youngstown in 1948 to teach instrumental music in the Youngstown schools, he taught at Rayen, Hayes and neighboring grade schools retiring in 1980. Mr. Busch graduated from Ravenna High School in 1938, received his Bachelor's Degree in education from Kent State University in 1942 and in 1948 he obtained his Masters degree in Music Education form the University of Michigan and also did graduate work at Westminster College.


He was a member of Christ Church Presbyterian where he sang in the choir for many years. He also served as President of the Corporation, served as a Trustee and a member of various committees. Mr. Busch was also Past Commodore of the Berlin Yacht Club, having been an active sailor. He was a clarinetist in the Canfield Community Band, a member of the Canfield A.A.R.P. member of the Retired Teachers Association and was an Army Air Force Veteran of WWII having served from 1942 to 1946.


Besides his wife the former Doris M. Waller, whom he married June 10,1950 he leaves a daughter Barbara Lynn (Jim) Joye of Surprise AZ, a son John Charles (Sarah) Busch of Montclair N.J. grandchildren Anna Marie Busch, Dr. James D. (Carolyn) Joye of Saratoga CA., Wendy Joye of Dublin OH. and James O.(Kim) Joye of Cuyahoga Falls OH. Several great grandchildren, nephew, nieces and cousins also survive him. Besides his parents a brother George and a sister Gertrude preceded him in death.


Friends may call from 9AM to 11 AM before the Memorial service at Christ Church Presbyterian 1933 Canfield Rd. Youngstown 44511. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the church or Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Street Youngstown 44512.
