Catherine Bunch Copeland, 73, died March 14, 1999.
A native of Chowan County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Alfonsa and Martha Chappell Bunch. Mrs. Copeland was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church, Ruth Bible Class, Kings Fork Woman's Club and Myrtle Card Club.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Calvin Copeland; four daughters and their families, Walter and Carole C. Cosby of Roanoke, Brent, Chad, Dana and Lee Andrew, Richard and Sue C. Williams of Suffolk, Rich, Stephanie and Mitchell Williams, Ryan, Mary, Casey and Clair Williams, Bobby and Sandra C. Simpson of Suffolk, Amy and Ken Simpson, Jeff and Patsy C. Robbins of Chesapeake, Mike, David and Brian Robbins; a son, Calvin H. Copeland of Suffolk and his son, Christopher; a sister, Eleanor Modlin of Tyner, N.C.; three brothers, L.D. Bunch of Lavonia, Ga., Allen Bunch of Douglasville, Ga., and Linwood Bunch of Detroit, Mich.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. David Jendrey. Memorial donations may be made to the Western Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 6952 Old Myrtle Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall directly after the service and at other times at 2420 Joshua Lane. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
