Joe Leonard Batson Sr., age 81 years, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, in Ocean Springs, MS.
He retired from Hancock Bank after 44 ½ years and the Ocean Springs School District after more than 40 years.
Deacon Batson was a choir member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Vancleave, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. He was a Master Mason at William Cooper Lodge 286.
Survivors include eight children: Fred Batson I of California, Cassandra Parker of Indiana, Denise Batson of Virginia, Devvionne Wright of Texas, Rafeal Batson of Mississippi, Joe Batson Jr. of Mississippi, Yolanda Farrow of Virginia, and Tim Batson of Mississippi; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at New Life Community Center at New Light Baptist Church, 5120 Burney Road, Vancleave, MS 39565. Visitation will be at the center two hours prior to service time. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
Care of our father was entrusted only to the professionalism of MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME.
