Poughkeepsie - Theodore (Ted) Milton Anibal of Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie, passed away on March 11, 2016.
Ted was born in Clifton Park, NY on March 10, 1922. He was the son of Theodore R. Anibal and Anna Curtis Anibal.
Ted graduated from Nott Terrace High School and he was a member of the Schenectady Choral Society.
He was employed at the Army Depot in Schenectady County until entering the Army in October 1942.
After an Honorable Discharge he was employed at the G.E. Company in the guided missile department until the contract expired, then by Van Curler Motor Company.
From 1966 until his retirement in 1977, he was employed by Niskayuna Public Schools in the building maintenance department.
Ted and his wife, Doris, moved from Schenectady to Canton, NC in July 1977, where they served as house parents at Broyhill Baptist Children's Home in Clyde, NC.
They received the Governor's Award for Exemplary Community Involvement and Outstanding Accomplishments in Haywood County, presented by Governor Jim B. Hunt in 1982.
Ted and Doris worked with the Haywood Christian Ministry for three years, and Ted served as president of the ministry for one year.
Ted and Doris were members of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville, NC, where they were choir members and enjoyed a nursing home ministry.
Ted was also a member of "The Top Forty" men's choir.
In 1985 Ted and Doris moved to Boynton Beach, FL.
In 1990 they relocated to Port Charlotte, FL and then to Staatsburg, NY in January 2005, where they became members of the Evangelical Free Church of Clinton Corners.
Ted was predeceased by Doris Esther Sisson Anibal, his beloved wife of 73 years.
Ted was predeceased by his sisters, Marion B. Warner, Irene Anibal Sanders, and a half-brother, Fred Anibal.
A memorial service will be held at a future date and interment will be at the Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
