Samuel Divine lived in Sterling, NY, Springfield Twp. Lucas Co., OH, and Woodbridge Twp, Hillsdale Co., MI. His father Joseph F. Divine, wife Esther and the rest of the Divine family moved to what is now Lucas Co., OH in 1833. Some of Samuel's brothers moved onto Hillsdale Co. in 1841. Joseph and Esther followed in 1843. Samuel was the 1st Surveyor of Lucas Co. and was also a County Commissioner, and a Springfield Twp Official. Although there is no headstone for Samuel in the Divine Cemetery, and no burial record has been found, it is believed he is buried here next to his wife, Lucy.

Sister, Arminda (1806-1842) born in NY, died in Centreville, St. Joseph's Co., MI.

Sister, Margaret (1822-1840) born in NY, died in Springfield Twp., Lucas Co., OH. There is a discrepancy between a MI death record (1848) and Margaret's headstone.

Sister, Amasa (1824-1914) born in NY, died in 1914, location unknown, per Michigan death record.
