Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Ruth Vaughn Strong age 86; of Hallsville, TX will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the New Grover Cemetery in Marshall, TX. Visitation will be Sunday evening at Sullivan Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM.

Mrs. Strong entered into rest on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Marshall. She was born July 24, 1929 in Como, TX to Hattie and Willie Vaughn. Virginia married Joseph “Bud” Strong in 1946, in Marshall, TX where they chose to stay and raise a family. After Buds death in 1991, she worked as a nurse and later as a counselor. Most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will be missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Strong was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Elvin and Herbert Vaughn; and two sisters, Cozett Windham and Ann Downs. She is survived by her four children, Imogene Strong, Steven Strong, Kenneth Strong, and Susie Deaton; three grandchildren, Lucas Deaton, Sarah Deaton, and Lydia Strong; four great-grandchildren, Elijah Deaton, Noah Patton, Maria Isabella Siddique, and Azaan Jeramiah Siddique; two sisters, Murrell “Frances” Alders and Betty Polk; and a host of friends.
