Margaretta McLaughlin Cooney, of North Syracuse, passed away early Friday morning.
Mrs. Cooney was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, James R.; by her brothers, Peter McLaughlin and Harold McLaughlin and by her sister, Elizabeth McLaughlin. Surviving are her daughters, MaryAnne (John) Belanger of Wooster, OH, Terese (Patrick) Carbone of Binghamton, NY and Elizabeth (Kenneth) Weaver of Fort Myers, FL; a brother, Paul McLaughlin; grandchildren, Geoffrey Belanger, Sarah Egan, Jacqueline Belanger, and Kevin Carbone, seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A lifelong communicant of St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale, her life centered around faith, family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23 at St. Margaret's Church. The family will receive friends the hour before Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Please consider a donation, in lieu of flowers, to St. Margaret's Church.
