Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Day, age 67, of Sterling CO, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016.

She was born in Ghent, Minnesota and moved to Colorado in the 1970's. She initially worked as an excutive secretary at Loveland Ski Area. It is there she met the man who became her husband; together they started their own restaurant,

Les Juers, in Georgetown, CO. In 1984 she moved to Sterling and became a permanent resident of the area.

With her adventurous spirit she held numerous different occupations during

her lifetime. She was one of the first non-traditional students to graduate from Northeastern Junior College with her Associate Degree in Equine Science.

Becky was a true lover of life, finding peace in nature, enjoying walks in the canyons and pastures, reaching out to meet others and learn their stories. Her greatest pride and joy was her daughter, and welcoming her grandson. She was truly delighted in being a grand-mother, and always said,"he just melted my heart".

She has left a lasting legacy of a genuine kind soul, generous spirit, loving friend, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her beloved grandson, daughter, son-in-law, her mother, five sisters, many cousins, uncles and aunts. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, Theodore and Mary DeRoode, and her father, Robert DeRoode.

A celebration of life memorial will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., at the Parry Shop 21998 CR 46, Sterling, CO. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship has been established for her precious grandson.
