Funeral services for Mr. Lester Fontenot, Jr. 42, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Dardar officiating.

Burial will be in the Iota Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., Saturday; and 8:00 a.m. Sunday until time of services.

Mr. Fontenot died at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at his residence in Gonzales.

Mr. Fontenot was a native of Evangeline and a resident of Gonzales where he was a board operator for a chemical plant. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Louisiana College in Alexandria. He played on the college baseball team for four years. He also played baseball for the Alexandria Aces from 1994-1996. He loved baseball, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family as well as his work family.

Survivors include his fiancé’ Andre Simar and her children, Alec, Dawson, Elyse and Blair Wallace; his adoptive father, Jeff Moore and wife Stacy; sister, Dolores Crader and husband Tony of Basile, two step-sisters, Megan Moore of Lafayette, Caitlin Lail of Milton; two brothers, Gene Fontenot of Basile, Robert Fontenot and wife Sarah of Evangeline, two step-brothers, Brandon Moore of Lafayette and Hunter Lail of Milton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Edna Dietz Fontenot.
