Surviving to carry on his good name are son,Ron (Bonnie Murphy) Sterling of Westerville,OH and daughter,Teri(Don) deMars of Litchfield Park,AZ. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren,Mollie Erin Sterling-Lynch (Thomas) of Westerville,Joshua B. (Kathleen) Sterling of Chevy Chase,MD,Lucas Miller of Muncie,IN. Greatgrandchildren Mary Katherine & Colleen Erin Lynch,and Caroline Mei-Li Sterling.
A member of the "Greatest Generation",Ed embodied the very best of that appellation. Ed was the long-time operator of Sterling Sohio on Market AV N. and Chief Bailiff of Canton Municipal Court. In those positions he was able to "pay it forward" to many people in the Canton/Stark County area. Through his business he enabled dozens of young men to further their educations,and help many
other people get through tough times.
For those who knew Ed Sterling,they knew a true friend,and there cannot be a more fitting tribute to a life well-lived.
A private celebration of Ed's life has already taken place in Columbus. A Masonic service and open memorial will be held on Friday March 25th at the Masonic Temple 836 Market AV N. at 12:00 noon. All who knew Ed are welcome to come and add their remembrances of this remarkable man.
