Mrs. Nathan Richardson Dies
Mrs. Nathan Richardson, former Winterset resident, died Tuesday, April 21 at Glidden, at the age of 78 years. Mrs. Richardson has made her home with her daughter Mrs. J. R. McNichols, since 1931 and lived here when the Rev. Mr. McNichols was pastor of the Methodist church. She suffered a severe heart attack April 13th and after a week of intense suffering died last Tuesday.
She was the former Axa Adeline Evers, daughter of Clark and Mary Evers and was born in Linn county near Coggen, Iowa, February 16, 1864. She was married to Mr. Richardson September 23, 1884. They were the parents of eight children, four of whom died in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death June 3, 1931 and since then she resided with Mrs. McNichols.
She leaves her two daughters, Mrs. McNichols and Mrs. Clarence Cooley of Delta, Colorado, and two sons, Clark of Kimball, South Dakota and Oris of Grimes, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Dexter last Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. conducted by a friend of the family, the Rev. W. F. Clayburg of Carroll assisted by Revs. Neal Clemmer of Dexter and W. H. Warrior of Adair. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. William Gowdy of Winterset and burial was made in the Dexter cemetery.
