Haysi, VA- Clinton Loyd Yates, age 73 of Painter Lick Branch, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Freelin and Pruda Deel Yates. He was a coal miner and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Percy and Esten Yates and sisters, Polly McClanahan, Delphia Kilgore, Darlene Yates and Norma Jean Yates.

Survivors include his wife, Kelsa, four sons, Ronald (Jackie) Yates of Elkhorn City, KY, Jimmy Dean (Michelle) Yates of Cedar Bluff, VA, Marty Yates of Dublin, VA and Felix (Quintina) Yates of Bristol, VA, step-mother, Emily Yates of Haysi, grandchildren, Julia (Caleb) Epling, Jodi (D.J.) Stiltner, Christian Yates, Samira (C.J.) Beavers, Amanda (Kevin) Belcher, Monica (Doug) Wampler, great-grandchildren, Jackson, Carter, Benjamin, Lucas, Jaden, Carson, Charlie and Brooklyn, a sister, Edna Colley of Haysi, a brother, Basil (Barbara) Yates of Haysi.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Andy Deel and Mark Justice officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Yates Cemetery, Haysi, VA.
