Matthew enjoyed collecting sports cards, coins, and stamps. He loved animals and visiting the Iosco County Animal Shelter. He also loved going to music specials at the Hale Baptist Church and fishing with dad.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Charles and Kathy Russell of Hale; sister, Marquerite (Josh) Friedlander of Olympia, Washington; niece and nephew Rafi and Anshe Friedlander. The funeral service was held on February 16, at the Buresh Funeral Home in Hale, with Pastor Blaine Anderson officiating. He was laid to rest in Esmond-Evergreen Cemetery.
