Arion "Bunt" Hubchik
Arion "Bunt" Hubchik, 51, a prominent Colorado Springs general contractor, died Thursday in a Colorado Springs hospital after a lengthy illness. He was chairman of the board of Hubcon Corp., a general contracting business, and he served on the boards of directors of the Colorado National Bank Exchange and the Boys Club of Colorado Springs. He was past president of both the El Paso County Contractors Association and the Colorado Springs Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Ave., with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from ___ until 9 p.m. today at the Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. Mr. Hubchik was born Nov. 20, 1933, in Grandview, Manitoba, Canada. He had lived in Colorado Springs since 1954. He was a graduate of Colorado College. Mr. Hubchik is survived by his wife, the former Andrea Davis, a son, Michael Kevin, and daughter, Lisa, both of Colorado Springs, and a brother, Walter of Lavonia, Mich. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hipple Cancer Research Center, 4100 S. Kettering Blvd., Dayton, Ohio 45439, or the Penrose Cancer Hospital Research Fund, 2215 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs 80907.
