William is the son of Capt. William Louis and Etta Henriett (Downs) Conant. He was single and working as a book keeper in Victor in 1902. He was stricken with spinal Meningitis several years before his death, according to his grandfather wm. Augustus Conant, and which caused him to lapse into insanity from time to time. The family believed his death to be a suicide after he was found drowned in Victor Reseervoir. He was 24 years old when he died. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
