Caroline Klossner was born in Nicollet Co, MN on August 25, 1857. She was the fifth child of Swiss immigrants and original pioneer settlers, Jacob and Susanna Klossner. Caroline married Henry Guggisberg of Sigel Township on March 4, 1879. They later moved to a farm in Gibbon and raised their family. Their 18 year marriage was blessed with eight children, six who would live to adulthood. Caroline died at the age of 40 when several of her children were still quite young.
