MUNFORDVILLE - Martha Russell Sims, 83, of Munfordville died at 8:40 p.m. Feb. 8, 2006, at a Horse Cave nursing home.
The Barren County native was a merchant and business owner and a member of the Christian Church in Cave City. She was a daughter of the late James Powell and Nell Williams Hays and the wife of the late James Russell Sims.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sego Funeral Home, with burial in Munfordville Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and at 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include four sons, James Russell Sims Jr. and Robert Carroll Sims, both of Munfordville, Jack Hays Sims of Virginia Beach, Va., and Thomas Dale Sims of Hendersonville, N.C.; a daughter, Sharon Locke of Munfordville; a sister, Patty Hatler of Smiths Grove; nine grandchildren, Angela Case, Kyle and Blake Sims, Jeffrie Locke, Jennifer Tucker, Collin Moore, Chris Sims, Jessica Crain and Nikki Sims; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
