Sarah F. Folks was born in Hardy County, VA in 1803 per family records. She married Samuel Bonner in Nov of 1841. Sarah had a son, William "Amos" Heavner that was born, out of wedlock, in 1827 (Reuben Heavner, father). Samuel assumed guardianship of Amos. Samuel & Sarah had a son, John A. Bonner, in 1843. (Sarah's Name is verified by US Land Petition Records.)

Sarah is buried next to Samuel in the Bonner Cemetery, Mingo District, Randolph County, WV. Originally, neither had a gravestone but had several rocks stacked near the head of the graves to mark it. Sarah also had a larger rock that had the initials "SB" with no date. Samuel's rock had the initials of "SB" with the date of "1865". Their only son together, John A. Bonner, is also buried in this graveyard.
