Alice (Shaw) Illig, age 85, of Penncraft, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Mt. St. Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born on September 1, 1930 in Blainesburg, Pa., a daughter of Joseph W. Shaw Sr., and Elizabeth Shushok Shaw.
Alice was a member of the former Church of the Madonna, Cardale, Pa., where she was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the church choir.
She was a former employee of Gallett Knitting Mill in Uniontown, and also the Republic Sportswear Co.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Dankovich, Dolores Romano, and Marie Sutton, brothers, Joseph W. Shaw Jr., Edward Shaw, and James W. Shaw Sr., and her parents.
Surviving are her husband, George S. Illig Jr.; daughters, Connie DiSilvestro and husband, Larry of Penncraft, Pa., and Vicki DeForty and husband, Tony of Low Hill,Pa.;granddaughters: Janice Juliana, and husband, Joe of Uniontown, Pa., and Leslie DeFino and husband, Mike of Brier Hill, Pa.; grandsons, Larry DiSilvestro and wife, Dana, of Eighty Four, Pa., and Gary Staggers, and wife, Candy of Brownsville, Pa.; great grandsons: Nicholas and Alex Juliana, Dominic and Logan DiSilvestro, and Brandon Staggers; great granddaughters: Brionna Staggers, and DeLaney DiSilvestro; sisters, Virginia Balog, and Charlotte Orslene, both of Penncraft, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, 1 Legion St., Republic, Pa., on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday, March 21, 2016, until 1:30 p.m., when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 2:00 p.m., in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Footedale, Pa., with Rev. Fr. William Berkey as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
