Little Miss Allison "Renee" Smith received her "Angel Wings" on April 6, 1986 in Zebulon, GA.

Renee was born on September 11, 1977 in Griffin, GA to Jackie Walter Smith & Denise Smith Futch.

Just 3 short years after her birth, Renee, was joined by a "Beautiful Baby Sister", Jacqueline Christine "Christy" Smith. Renee was a beautiful, happy, well adjusted 2nd. Grader that loved to dance & she excelled in everything she did.

At the time of her death, Renee was survived by her Mother, Mrs. Denise Futch; her Father, Jackie Walter Smith, (who has since passed away); her Sister, Christy Smith; her 2 Grand-Mother's, Ms. Sarah Manley Williams & Mrs. Louise Tiller; her Great-Grand-Mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Scoggins Connell; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, & Cousins also survived.

Renee was only 8 years old at the time of her death. She was found in a Neighbor's yard
mauled by 2 Pit Bulldogs. It was later suspected that there was much more to her death. Renee had been sexually assaulted & brutally murdered before being mauled by the Dogs. Her death was ruled a Homicide & still remains unsolved. We are in hopes that some day someone will come forward with information or solid evidence will be found that will bring closure so that hearts & minds can rest a little easier just knowing that justice has finally come for this Precious Angel.

In memory of Renee the Pike County Primary School has established the Allison Renee Smith Award.
The Award is given every year to an outstanding 2nd grade student for academic excellence.

Renee is buried in The Moody Memory Gardens at Moody Funeral Home in Zebulon, GA.

Trees

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
