Ronnie Barto Baker 86, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas. He was born on November 8, 1929 in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late Prince Baker and Ora Lee Clayborn Baker. Ronnie was raised in Talihina, Oklahoma where he graduated from the Talihina High School. He joined the United States Army in 1948 and served two tours in the Korean War before retiring after twenty two years of service in 1969. Ronnie married Velda Marie Hogard on May 15, 1965 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2010. He lived in Alaska before moving to McAlester in 1974. In 1993 he moved to Shay, Oklahoma where he lived the rest of his life. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith and in 1991 he had received a 32nd degree certificate from the Anchorage, Alaska Masonic Lodge. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son; Douglas L. Baker, 1 step son; Stephen J. Self and 2 sisters; Wanda L .Carr and Kathren Pettigrew.
