Sarah Jane Paul, 90, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born on December 7, 1925 in Rankin, IL to Clifford and Ruby (Bischoff) Ross. Sarah Jane married Samuel F. Paul on April 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2015.
She was raised in Rankin before moving to Frankfort in 1942. She was a 1944 graduate of Frankfort High School and worked as a Secretary for the Horner Tompkins Insurance Agency for a number of years.
She later served as a bookkeeper and secretary for the family business, Paul Coal & Oil Company. Along with being a fifty-year member of the St. Matthew United Methodist Church, she also belonged to Sigma Alpha Chi Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, Business and Professional Womenβs Club.
She is survived by a son, Fred R.(Sharyl) Paul of Ft. Wayne, IN; 4 Grandchildren & 2 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, with Pastor Karen Bray of St. Matthew United Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Whiteman Cemetery, Michigantown, IN.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
