OBITUARY:
ELK Rapids Progress of March 8, 1917

Mrs. Anna Malissia Odell, whose maiden name was WOOD, was born in Oswego, NY May 9, 1848, and died in South Milton March 1, 1917, aged sixty-eight years, nine months and nineteen days. She was married to Hiram Odell August 23, 1865. Twelve children were the fruit of this marriage, four of whom are living--Frank and Ernest of Kewadin, Mrs. Nellie Dennis of Ellsworth and Gilbert of East Jordan. She also has twenty-one grandchildren living.

The deceased moved to the Grand Traverse region sixty-five years ago with her parents, so she was a pioneer, having lived in this viciinity since.

She gave her heart to God and united with the M.E. Church more than forty years ago...

She has been in failing health the past two years, but...

The funeral was held at the Kewadin M.E. Church March 3rd, Rev. John Priestley officiating, assisted by her pastor, Rev. Samuel Brooks, Undertaker Chappelle of Alden having charge. The remains were laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids.
