Patricia Ann Ridley Herndon (86) passed away at her home February 20, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on July 13, 1929 in Sulpher Oklahoma. Patricia was a direct descendant of Cyrus Harris, the first Governor of the Chickasaw Nation from 1856-1874. Her passion throughout her life was History and Genealogy. One of Patricia's greatest accomplishments was compiling a book about her ancestry and history of the Chickasaw's. Her knowledge and strength will be greatly missed. Patricia is survived by her husband of 69 years, James LaVerne Herndon, Jr., son James (Jamie) Herndon California, daughter Valerie Herndon Richards, Hillsboro TX, grandson Harrison Blake Richards, Dallas TX and brother Jerry K. Ridley, Sulpher, Oklahoma. Patricia's ashes will be placed at the Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery. The Family would like to express heartfelt thanks and appreciation to VITAS Hospice.
