Mildred Phillips McKinney, age 90, of Arbuckle Road in Burnsville passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016.
Born on June 8, 1925 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Edward S. and Florence Silvers Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands; James Arthur Huskins and Collins Orb McKinney. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; John, Tom, Ed, and Bill Phillips and her sister; Mary Ellen Buchanan.
Mrs. McKinney was a member of the Black Mountain Baptist Church; but, she had attended the First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine for the past fourteen years.
Left to cherish, her son; Philip Huskins and wife, Donna of Macon, GA; her daughters; Betty Ringler and husband, Mike of Rock Hill, SC ; Selinda Boone and husband, Larry of Burnsville; Judy Rhodes and husband Mark of Newton.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Mildred McKinney on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 6:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine with Dr. Rocky Branch and Joi Williams officiating.
