Edna M. (Daron) Bowman, 98, formerly of Courtdale and Luzerne, died on March 13, 2016, at her daughter's home in Mohnton.

Born Aug. 15, 1917, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Daron, Edna was raised in Courtdale, moving to Luzerne in 2000. She was the wife of the late Harry A. Bowman who died in 1995; they were married for over 58 years.

Edna was a life member of Courtdale United Methodist Church and the church's Women's Society. She worked at the Leader Nursing Center, Kingston until her retirement in 1987.

Edna was predeceased by her three sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie K. Svetz, wife of George David Svetz; grandson, Scott D. Svetz; and granddaughter, Carrie A. Svetz; and the light of her life, her great-grandson, 4-year-old Parker J. Diedrich.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Choice Hospice or Courtdale United Methodist Church.

Family and friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until noon at Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, 717 Main St., Edwardsville. A funeral service will be held by the Rev. Dr. Roxy J. Moses, pastor of Courtdale United Methodist Church, at noon. Interment will follow in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
