U.S. Veteran Donald Keith Sterling 59 formerly of Richmond died July 24, 2010 at the University of Michigan Hospital after a long illness. He was born September 19, 1950 in Richmond to Robert Keith and Ruth Monger Sterling and lived in this area for most of his life.

He was a Truck driver. He was a highly decorated retired Sergant First Class Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Druids lodge #12, VFW post # 651, and the Moose Lodge 1160.

He is survived by his wife Nora Elizabeth “Libby” McKnight, three children Brian Smith of Richmond, Kai Sterling of Florida, Stephanie Riddle of Texas, two grandchildren, brothers and sisters Cyndi Green of Shawnee, Kansas, Carolyn Drake of Newburg, Massachusetts, Marilyn Moore of Pikesville, North Carolina, John Sterling of Warsaw, Robert Sterling of Wood River, Illinois, Diane Howell of Alexandria, Virginia, seven nieces and four nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be 1PM Monday August 2, 2010 in the Dayton Nation Cemetery with full military rites.
