Anita Zander Jordan, 61, died March 2, 2016, at her residence in Nixa, MO.

The many joys Anita experienced throughout her life were her faith, music, cooking, baking and nurturing her family. After marriage and while raising her sons she earned a nursing degree and concentrated on the field of oncology. Anita accepted Christ as her Savior during her college years and affirmed her faith calming the fears of dying patients with her inner peace and loving compassion.

Anita was a beloved wife, a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, an affectionate daughter, a compassionate friend and a devoted sister whose life will be celebrated, her love remembered and her lessons cherished by us all. Anita, Wife, Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Friend and Sister, we miss you dearly.

Survived by her husband, Michael; mother, Mary Zander; sons, Thomas (Jessica) and Andrew (Taffeta); granddaughter, Jocelyn; brother, Thomas (Kathy) Zander Jr.; sisters, Cathy Pauly, Georgette (Mick) Menth, Mary Jane (Warren) Lindberg, Monica (Steve) Engel, Annette (Philip) Spencer; and loving sister-friend, Jeannie Hanf.

Preceded in death by her father, Thomas Zander Sr.; brother, Mark Zander; and brother-in-law Mike Pauly.

Funeral services were held March 5, 2016, at the Nixa Assembly of God Church, Nixa, MO. Burial was March 7, 2016, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery In Springfield, MO.

Anita Dolores, on Mar 7, 1954, was the 6th of 9 children born to Thomas Emile and Marie "Mary" Veronica Meyer Zander. Anita went to high school in Lockport, Will County, Illinois. On July 26, 1980 she married Michael Don Jordan and to that union 2 sons were born, Thomas Michael and Andrew Jordan. Anita worked as a nurse.

Preceded in death by sister Mary in 1943; father Thomas in 1998; and brother Mark Vincent in 2006. Her mother Mary died on April 3, 2016.

Survived by her husband Michael D Jordan; sons Thomas and Andrew; siblings Catherine "Cricket" Pauly, Thomas E (Kathleen) Zander Jr., Georgette (Michael) Menth, Mary Jane (Warren) Lindberg, Monica (Stephen) Engel and Annette (Phillip) Spencer.

She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. May you rest in peace, Anita. A special love to you, Barb and Eldon Parker
