Thomas the son of Joseph Kidd and Anne Poole.


In April 1824, Thomas and his siblings and parents, emigrated from Coolroe in Wexford County, Ireland. They sailed on the 'Maria', arriving in Quebec, Canada in August 1824.


They lived near Athens in Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario during the winter of 1824-1825 then moved to Toronto in the spring of 1825. They then returned to Lansdowne Township in Leeds & Grenville County and settled on Concession 7, Lots 15-18. His father's occupation was a maker of beaver hats.


He married Ann Morris (1800-1846)

Children:

  1. John, (b.1831-?) married Ellen Morris on 28 Dec 1861.[1]
  2. Eleanor (1842–1866) At age 23 she married Horace Simeon Adrain, aged 21 of Bastard Township, Leeds County on May 27, 1865. He was the son of Lydia and Samuel Adrain.


When Thomas was 92 years of age, the family was found in the 1881 Canada Census in Leeds Front, South Leeds, Ontario. Thomas, who was Widowed, was living with his son John and family. The household was enumerated as follows:

  • Kidd John, O, 43, Farmer Married
  • Kidd Elyzebeth, O, 53 Married
  • Kidd George Welington, O, 17
  • Kidd John, O, 14
  • Kidd Sarah, O, 19
  • Kidd Thomas, Ireland, 92 Widowed
