Ms. Bertha Bell Hayes, age 78 of Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Ms. Hayes was born December 16, 1937 in Wilkes County to Harrison Fred and Retha Elizabeth Hendren Hayes. She retired from Tyson. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son; Clyde Thomas Hayes, three sisters; Dina Johnson, Vestie Johnston, Marie Hayes, seven brothers; Cam, Gurney, Clyde, Roosevelt, Charlie, Herman, Luther C. Hayes, and one infant who died at birth.

She is survived by one daughter; Mary Hayes Call of Wilkesboro, one granddaughter; Keisha Lynn Jones and husband Joseph Ray Jones. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
