Lena “Peg” Spencer Gilley Spencer, 79 of Bassett, Va passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born February 5, 1937 to the late Dorothy Shelton and John Albert Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Norman Spencer and one sister; Laura Sowers.
She worked for the Elastics plant in Stuart where she later retired. She had a loving companion “Bear” her dog.
Surviving are one son; J. Gilley and wife , three brothers; F. Spencer and J. Spencer both of Patrick Springs, VA, D. Spencer of Woolwine, VA, three grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 18, 2016 at County Line Church of God of Prophecy in Bassett, Va.
