Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Mt. Scott Kiowa Church with the Rev. Bill Foote and John Ringlero officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Scott KCA Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
George was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Lawton, to Lila Hilliary and Charles Emery Rowell. He attended Lakeview Grade School and graduated from Elgin High School. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954. He received the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Campaign Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation, United Nations Service medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. His profession was a Journey man Electrician for 55 years, finally retiring to enjoy his passion for farming and watching his kids and grandkids grow up. George was a life member of Local Unions 590 and 1141 and the Doss E. Baker V.F.W. Post 8580.
He is survived by: wife Marilyn Thompson Rowell; daughter, Tracy Peregoy; three sons: George Rowell, Charlie Rowell and Scottie Rowell; siblings: William D. Rowell and wife Joy, Everett Rowell and companion Janie, Bertha Baker, Juanita Cunningham, Maude Cunningham, and Robert Rowell and wife Linda; grandchildren: Brandon Peregoy, Courtney Peregoy and George Wyatt Rowell; great-grandchildren: Chelsey Bruitt, Brady Peregoy and Carter Carattini; amd several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father and mother: Charles E. and Lila Hilliary Rowell; and nephews: Dale Baker and Henry Kosechata
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
