Gary Lynn Warner
Gary Lynn Warner, 65, of Vens Run Road Jane Lew passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew following an extended illness. He was born in Weston on March 28, 1949: son of the late Ralph Hill Warner and Audrey Irene (Casto) Warner and survived by a step mother: Helen Warner of McWhorter, WV.
Mr. Warner is survived by two brothers: William Ralph Warner of Navarre, OH and Rickey Paul Warner of Clarksburg, one ½ brother: Noel Edwin Warner of Clarksburg and one ½ sister: Lewanna Ann Warner of Hampton, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Warner worked in the West Virginia Office of Technology and District 7 Headquarters of the West Virginia Department of Highways of Weston. He was a graduate of South Harrison High School with the “class of 1967” and was a Baptist by faith.
During the Vietnam Era, Mr. Warner was with the United States Army Signal Corp and also with the Military Intelligence with the United States Army Security Agency.
Gary had an easy going personality and had many talents. He was a ham radio operator since 1977 with the call letters WD8NSQ, an amateur photographer, and restored Farm-all farm tractors. He was a member of the Clarksburg Model Aviation Club where he flew RC Airplanes. He also belonged to the WV Citizens Defense League and the National Rifle Association. When he was younger he enjoyed hunting. Gary will be remembered for his easy going spirit and his “Blue eyes.”
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Bob Hoover officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the Lewis County Honor Guard.
