Kenneth L. Kerker, 56, of Rock Island, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Anthony's Hospital at 2:30 yesterday afternoon where he was taken after suffering a heart attack. Services will be at 9 Friday morning in the Weelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, and at 9:30 In Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Rock Island. Rosary will rx recited at 8 tomorrow night in the funeral home, where friends may call after 7 tonight. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Kerker was born Feb. 17, 1904, in Davenport, a son of Leo F. and Mary Kerker. He was reared and attended schools in Davenport and St. Mary's College, St. Mary's, Kan. For 30 years he operated the Coliseum Ballroom, retiring three years ago. On Nov. 9, 1926, he married Marie Saunders in Rock Island. He was a member of Sacred Heart.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, James, Moline, and Lee, Rock Island; seven daughters, Mrs. Robert Norton, Moline, Sister Mary St. Justin, BVM, Dubuque, Mrs. Donald Claver and Mrs. Richard Hunter, both of Rock Island, the Misses Rita, Carol and Sylvia, at home; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Doyle, Clinton, la., Mrs. Ruth Odean, Davenport; and two brothers, Donald and Dr. Herbert Kerker, both of Davenport.
