Salt Lake City, UT-Our loving mother returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 7, 2016 due to complications from a sudden illness. She was 82 years old. She was born on April 4th, 1933 to Clayton and Lenore Bollschweiler. She married Dick Wilson on March 8th, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Dick passed away in November of 2011 after 62 years of marriage. She continued to live independently in her own home until the time of her death.
Colleen was a loving mother of 3 children and 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Colleen always had a fun loving personality and was always more concerned about helping others and making sure that everyone was happy and taken care of. Even at the end she was more concerned about her children and the doctors and nurses than herself.
Colleen was an active member of the LDS church and she loved the Gospel. She was a veracious reader and read thousands of books throughout her lifetime. She was also a master seamstress and continued sewing clothes for herself and others for much of her life.
Colleen was part of a group of 25 friends called "Club" that have stayed close since graduating from South High School together. Even though their numbers have dwindled due to deaths, the remaining members have continued to this day to have monthly get-togethers and lunches to share the happenings of their lives. Since graduating from school they have met at least once a month for 65 years. They were once featured on the news because of how amazing it was for such a large group to stay friends together for so long.
She is survived by her sister JoAnne Parkes, her children, Cindy (Allan) and Clay (Merrilee), 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her son David.
Funeral services will be held at the Holladay 1st Ward, 2065 East 4675 South, Holladay, Utah on Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 am.
