Mr. DeYoung had served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed as a machinist at American Coil Spring until retiring in 1987. He was a member of Calvary Temple Church and was an avid softball player & golfer.
Survivors including are his 3 daughters, Vicki Jerome Motley of Spring Lake, Teresa Jeffery Platt of CO, Brenda Stephen Hill of Grand Haven; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Jerry Lannoo of Alpena, MI; 2 brothers, Tom DeYoung of Mexico, Ron Nancy DeYoung of MO; 2 nieces, & ex-wife, Edith DeYoung of Fruitport. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan DeYoung, his brother, Kenneth DeYoung & his first wife, Beverly J. Berry.
