KERSHAW, SC - A service to celebrate the life of Barbara Ethridge Youmans, 85, will be held at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2009, in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City, GA.

Mrs. Youmans, wife of the late John Raymond Youmans, Sr., died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, in Springdale Healthcare Center, Camden.

Born in Claxton, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Curtis and Callie Fields Ethridge.

She was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress.

Mrs. Youmans was a devout Christian.

She loved spending time fishing, watching baseball, crocheting and doing embroidery work.

Surviving are a daughter, Sylvia Y. Smith and her husband Ronald, a son; John R. Youmans, Jr., and his wife Pam all of Kershaw, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY, 10006 or The Humane Society of the US, 2100 L. Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.

The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
