SUSIE MAE BROWN, 93 years of age of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Home Creek, VA, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Maryview Medical Center Portsmouth, VA following a brief illness. Born in Freeburn, KY, May 01, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Cameron Alexander and Dixie Lovell. She was a homemaker, a seamstress at Eastern Isle Sewing Factory and worked in the ticket booth at the Lynwood Theater. She was a member of the Tookland Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Brown Sr., February 12, 1987 and by 12 brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Harry (Betty) Brown Jr., Chesapeake, VA; her daughter, Frances Smith, Suffolk, VA; 2-grandchildren: Brian (Michelle) Brown, Cora Peake, NC and Kimberly (Johnny) Walker, Chesapeake, VA; 3-great-grandchildren: Jake Brown, Nolan Walker and Andrea Walker.
Funeral Services for SUSIE MAE BROWN will be conducted Monday, March 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Capel with Pastors Jerry Ward and Jerry Wilson officiating. With burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with a song service at 7:00 P.M.
