Victim of TWA Flight 800
The Boeing 747 exploded 12 minutes after takeoff from John F. Kennedy International Airport. It was a scheduled international passenger flight to Rome, with a stopover in Paris.
All 230 people on board died in the crash.
She was a secretary in the guidance office of Montoursville High School in Pennsylvania who was chaperoning a group of students from the French club on a trip to Paris. She graduated from the same school in 1961 and was excited to be making her first overseas trip. She had worked for the district for 34 years and was a very dedicated person who loved being around kids.
