Russell Merwin Sanders, 89, of Milford, beloved husband of 66 years to Martha Sanders, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015. He was born on August 22, 1926, to the late George and Bessie Sanders.
Russell was employed by Wayside as the Vice President of buying. He volunteered at Milford Hospital for 24 years as well as the Literacy Center for many years. Russell was also a dedicated parishioner of the First United Church of Christ Congregational in Milford.
In addition to his wife, Russell is survived by his children, Betsy A. (Joseph) Sanders Mauri, Nancy J. Sanders, Russell M. (Janet) Sanders, Scott A. (Julie) Sanders; his grandchildren, Beth and Brian Mauri, Meagan and Katie Sanders, and Shannon and Jessica Sanders; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, George T. (Isabelle) Sanders and his sisters-in-law Shirley (Walter) Cuff and Betty Russell.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the First United Church, 34 West Main St., Milford, CT. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT.
