Ray Jessel was a Welsh songwriter, composer, and orchestrator. He was born in Cardiff, Wales and graduated from the University of Wales. He was probably most famous for writing the Broadway hit, Baker Street. After moving to Hollywood, he went on to write for and produce several shows, such as The Dean Martin Show, The Jacksons, and The Bob Newhart Show to name a few. He came out of retirement to audition for the 9th season of NBC's America's Got Talent at 84 years old.
