Jack Burke, 57, a resident of Scranton, died unexpectedly Wednesday at home.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Robert C. and Lucille Coyne Burke, he was a member of St. John Neumann Parish and was a graduate of Bishop Klonowski High School, class of 1976. He was a member of the Pa. National Guard for 18 years and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He was recently employed by NEPA Auto Auctions.

Jack truly enjoyed any time he spent with his nieces and nephews and was the go to guy for all family plumbing repairs. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are two brothers, Rob Burke and wife, Patty; and Jerry Burke and wife, Mary Joan. all of Scranton; three sisters, Marilou Gallagher, Scranton; Ann Maros, Avoca; and Judy White and husband, Bill, Scranton; 18 nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and great-nephews; an aunt, two uncles and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, St. John Neumann Parish, 633 Orchard St., by the Rev. John Ruth, assistant pastor. Inurnment, Cathedral Cemetery Columbarium.
