Leda Horton Freeman, age 96 of Marshall, Arkansas peacefully passed from this life and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at Highland Court in Marshall. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on April 10th, 1919 to Bud Horton and Nancy Stricker Horton.

Early in her life Leda attended a revival at Pine Grove Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was filled with the Holy Spirit. She was always a dedicated wife, mother and memaw. Leda spent countless hours preparing wonderful meals to serve her family and anyone else who just happened to drop by for Sunday dinner. Some of her family favorites were coconut cream pie, fried chicken, walnut cake and fried pies. She loved to crochet and sew. Leda possessed something that money cannot buy, love. She had a heart of gold and showed all those around her how much family and love truly mean.

Leda is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Buel Freeman; her beloved parents, Bud and Nancy Horton; seven brothers, L.T., Oss, Doss, Ross, Carl, Clyde and Guy Horton; and two sisters, Lena Brown and Annis Williams.

Survivors include one daughter, Evalyn of Marshall; grandchildren, Clifford of Russellville, Tanya, Tarance, Trisch, Eric, all of Marshall; and several beloved great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Leda will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 14th, 2016 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Don Campbell and Bro. Sam Horton officiating. Special music will be performed by Bro. Louis Sanders. Pallbearers will be Tarance DePriest, Eric DePriest, Ryan Watts, Dylan Watts, Mark Watts and Kenneth Daniels. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery near Marshall.
