GREAT FALLS —Anna Mae Fleming, 96, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.

Anna Mae was born on July 31, 1919 in Tuttle, North Dakota to Andrew Oscar and Alice (Dahl) Benson. She grew up in Tuttle and Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. She attended high school and Minot State Teachers College in North Dakota. She moved with her family to Bonners Ferry where she attended college in Lewistown.

She married Dan Fleming on May 16, 1942. After his service in the armed forces, Dan became an FBI agent and they moved to Stuyvesant, New Jersey where a daughter and a son joined the family. The family returned west to Billings, then in 1968 to Great Falls. In Great Falls, Anna returned to college and received her degree in 1970. She taught school in Great Falls for many years until her retirement.

She was a member of P.E.O., AAUW, and Friendship Force. She was also a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She loved reading and sewing; with Dan she loved to go camping, hiking, and cross country skiing. They were also avid travelers and went on many trips all over the globe together.

Anna was a loving, sassy, spunky wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had an unwavering love for God, her family, and her country. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Fleming; daughter Donna Jean Kinder; son Andrew Jon Fleming; sisters Emmy Reichert, Donna Tyler, and Adele Giles; brother Bernel Benson; and great-grandson Markies Kinder.
