CARLISLE - Martha E. Adams, 75, of 4 Todd Circle died Friday in Todd Memorial Home.
She was a retired schoolteacher who taught for 39 years, 30 of which were spent in the Carlisle school system.
She was a member of the Carlisle YWCA, Cumberland County Historical Society, Claremont Auxilary Board, Carlisle Civic Club, American Association of University Women, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Friends of the Bosler Free Library and Allison United Methodist Church of Carlisle. She helped with deliveries in the Meals on Wheels program.
Surviving are a sister, Anna A. Kough of Carlisle; two brothers, Paul B. Adams Sr. and E. Clair Adams, both of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in her church with the Rev. Paul L. Herring and Bishop D. Frederick Wertz officiating. Burial will be in Kutz Church Cemetery, Middlesex Twp., at the convenience of the family.
